Red Oak Security is owned by Wade Holland, Chief of Security, and his wife Shannon Holland, Office Manager.
Wade was born and raised in SLO County and has lived here most of his life. He comes from a family of local entrepreneurs who have done business in SLO County for almost 60 years.
As a security generalist with a wide variety of security experience, Wade has held positions as a police officer, correctional officer, bouncer, executive protection agent, and as a security officer for companies such as Marriott and Caesar’s Entertainment. He holds an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Taft College, and studied global terrorism and security issues at Eastern Kentucky University. Wade attended Executive Security International’s Advanced Executive Protection 2-week residency program.
Red Oak Security is the only security company in SLO County that is a member of ASIS, the premier association for the security industry worldwide. ASIS members have access to information, certifications, standards and guidelines, valuable research and in-depth education pertaining specifically to the security industry.
Wade is also the only person in SLO County to hold the Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) Professional Designation (CPD) from the National Institute of Crime Prevention (NICP). CPTED is a multi-disciplinary approach to deterring criminal behavior through environmental design. CPTED strategies rely on the ability to influence offender decisions that precede criminal acts by affecting the physical, social, and administrative environments. CPTED is based on the key overlapping concepts of Natural Access Control, Natural Surveillance, Territorial Reinforcement, and Maintenance. He is also a member of
